Travel Pillows

I found travel pillows on sale at Kmart for $3.50 last week, and decided to pick up a couple for the girls to use in the car!  We've got a couple long road trips planned for this Summer/Fall and I thought they'd be perfect!  I searched online and found this tutorial for easy and adorable pillowcases and made the up!

I didn't take a ton of pictures because she gives great pictures on the tutorial, but there are a few in progress-

They were super easy and both girls love their new pillows!

Satin flowers

Satin flowers like this are quick and easy to make-

Just cut out various sizes of satin circles, they don't have to be perfect, just a rough circle shape-

Then use a candle or flame to melt the edges.  Carefully, it can catch on fire if you stick it into the flame too much!  As the edges melt it'll make the satin curl up-

Then you lay out your various size petals, and stack them up the way you want them-

Then put a couple of stitches through them to hold them in place, you could glue each layer, but the stitching is quicker-

Then add some embellishments to the center-

You can add them to a satin dress-

Or glue it to a headband and over the back with another satin square-

They're pretty clipped to a shirt-

Or made into a hair clip-

Here is the headband again-

So much fun, right?  The best part is that satin is super cheep and these are really fun and easy to make!  Just don't burn your fingers!

Mod Monkey Party

Mod monkey party for my daughter and nephew!

matching cupcakes!

I made all the cupcake toppers with my cricut-

I love how they turned out!

I added pompoms to the birthday boy and girl's hats to make them a little more special-

Claire thought the hat was a torture device-

For adult favors I found a monkey oreo mold at Michaels.  Just add some chocolate and an oreo and you've got a cute little favor!

Kind of hard to see through the plastic, I wish I'd taken a picture of one out of the plastic, but they got eaten up too fast!

and favor bags for the kids filled with goodies.  Just a paper bag with another tag stapled to the top-

Party outfits!!  I got their shirts from here, and was really happy with how they turned out!

and I ordered her hair clip from here!  Adorable, I loved it!

The tutu I made myself with a couple rolls of tulle from Hobby Lobby, didn't take long at all!

Happy 2nd Birthday Sawyer and Claire!!

Butterfly Party

Hannah wanted a butterfly themed bowling party for her 6th birthday. What a theme!
We decided to make each of the girls a butterfly hair clip-

Hannah's own product cards-

favor bags

the butterfly on the favor tag was 3D-

Hannah designed and picked out the fabric for her own birthday outfit-

She even helped me sew the ruffle for the skirt-

A "6 and a butterfly" on a purple t-shirt, what else would you wear to a 6th butterfly birthday party-

Per Hannah's request we used the leftover fabric to make a matching dress for little sister.

butterfly cake-

And butterfly headbands for all the girls!  Everything went down hill from there since it had to be set up in the corner of a dark bowling alley, but all the girls seemed to have a great time!
