Flower tee

For my neices birthday I wanted to try making her a flower shirt I'd seen online.

I cut an oval shape out of cardstock on my cricut and used it as a template to make my flower petals. I used a 4.5 inch oval, but this can be adjusted depending on the size of shirt you're making.  I iron fusible interfacing onto the wrong side of my fabric and then traced the petals onto the paper and cut them out-

To make the center of the flower I cut 3/4 of a 3-inch circle-

I put the first petel starting just under the arm-

I laid everything out and adjusted the way I wanted it to look before I ironed anything down.  Then I started with the petal and iron the center on the flower on over the top.

I ironed everything in place-

Then stitched around them all to finish off the look.  I used coordinating colored thread for each petal, just changing out my top thread and leaving my bobbin the green color that matched the t-shirt.

A closer look at the stitching-

Here is the finished tee!  It turned out so cute, I want one for me!

Then a skirt with coordinating material-

I made a matching hair bow!

May day baskets

Nobody seems to make Mayday baskets anymore, but I loved getting them left on my doorstep as a kid, so it's a tradition I've carried on with my girls.

Paper flowers taped to drinking straws-

Lollipops in paper flowers-

Baskets of goodies to leave on the doorsteps of friends-

Happy May day (a couple days late ;))
